How did we get to this point you ask? Well, it all started at South Dakota Kids Camp this past June. Eric and I had been feeling a bit unsettled in our current positions as Children's Pastors at our church. We had reached the max of our potential there. We had a feeling that God was getting ready to move us, and our hearts (well mine anyway) longed to be closer to Home in Alabama. So I began praying, "God move us within 4 hours of home." As time passed it changed to, "God, within a days drive."
So on a Thursday morning chapel at Kid's Camp, I was sitting through a service designed for kids and God spoke, "I need you to go to Alaska."
"Um, no God! You know I've been praying to be closer to home. My kids rarely get to see their grandmas and I want that to change."
Needless to say there was a change that took place in my heart that day, as God spoke to me about this journey. At that point I told Him, "If you are serious about this, you have got to tell Eric, because I'm not!"
I just love God's sense of humor...because while this is going on, Eric is having a very similar dialogue with God. This began a journey of beginning the search for a position somewhere in Alaska, and we quickly found out that there were no openings for Children's Pastor roles anywhere in Alaska. All churches where too small to support a full time pastor, much less an accessory pastor...bummer. But coincidentally, Eric was already struggling with the idea of moving into another Children's pastor role, and was okay with the idea of moving into a Senior Pastor position...isn't it hilarious how God works?
So here we are, three months later, preparing for a journey of a lifetime to Ninilchik, Alaska. Why Ninilchik? It was the only church with a position open that can be driven to in Alaska. :)
The Journey has been paved with blessing so far. Our pastor and church have been very supportive of our decision and we are thankful and humbled at the show of support from our church, the offerings and the prayers. It's been amazing.

God blessed us with the perfect truck for the job. We are calling it the Blessing. We found an amazing deal on this awesome Ford F350 Dually. We looked at trucks all day yesterday and everyone had something wrong...old tires, weird noise, trashed, ect...so when we saw this one, without a scratch on it, brand new tires, and extra bells and whistles specific for pulling a camper we grabbed it up. The best part...it was in our price range and $3000 under book value. It is bigger than we originally wanted, but I think it is exactly what we needed. God always knows best.
So here we are with a truck big enough to pull the camper, enough money to get us there and a bit more to sustain us for a couple of months. We are now ready to go and so excited to see what God has in store for us on this journey.
