We are in Canada!

We actually made it to Canada...if it wasn't for the lack of cell service here, I would have totally played Five Iron Frenzy's "Oh, Canada." I was so disappointed I couldn't, but I sang it in my head. So with that song in mind, I was surprised not to see milk in a bag or any Slurpees made with venison. In case you wondering what in the world I am talking about, here is the you tube video of the song...knock yourself out.

So our first Canadian meal was McDonald's...because that is were you go to eat when you are somewhere new...and I will say the only thing I noticed different was the ketchup is off...it was slightly sweeter. It almost tasted like it it had honey in it.

So we almost made it to Calgary last night, which almost puts us back on track. Eric was happy about that. Customs was a breeze, thank goodness. No search of the camper, just questions, back ground check and then we were back on the road again. I was very disappointed though that the research I did about the cell phone service in Canada was in accurate...with 99 cents a minute and

cents a text message...yikes. Hopefully we can get that figured out. One thing for sure it is hard to navigate without data and your phone.

So now that we are in Canada I finally got to go grocery shopping, first time in two weeks. I was so scared of getting things thrown out, so I didn't buy anything before we left. We had just enough to sustain us until today. The grocery section in Walmart is smaller. I feel like they have fewer processed foods, and I got a kick out of the green herbs added to the picture on the front of a Hamburger Helper Box...I guess to make it look more appealing or healthier? Ketchup flavored chips were also something new. I should have bought a bag to see if it tasted like Canadian Ketchup or American...just a thought.

So far the view has been flat, with exception to Northern Montana...I keep hearing it will get prettier the further north you get...but so far the view has been pretty. This is the furthest West and North we have ever been. It is so amazing this adventure. Looking forward to the rest of our drive!

About Us

We are Eric and Jennifer Griffin.  We grew up in Lower Alabama and have a love and heart for ministering to people through our life stories.  Though we seem and feel ordinary, our life has been anything but.  Some would even call it adventurous.  After spending half of our 26 years of marriage in full time ministry, we have lived in 5 states, moved 15 times at this point (6 between states), lost a child, had two more, been on the brink of divorce countless times, and lived full time in an rv.  Now that things have "settled" down, and our boys are school age, we decided to buy a house and put down roots back in Lower Alabama.  We have been in our house for 4 years and it has been the longest we have ever stayed in one home in our entire marriage.

Through all of this, we have learned to keep our eyes on God and follow the path he sets before us.  He has blessed our path, all of the moving around and the losses, he has always protected us and we grew from it all.  Now we wish to share this life with anyone willing to listen, in hopes that we can help others on this adventure called life.
